Appreciative Inquiry Coacing

With Barbara Sloan and Julie Barnes

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Coaching is a powerful vehicle for energising positive change in an individual or team by enabling them to discover, expand, and sustain their root causes of success; create a compelling dream of their desired future; and design specific plans to realize their dream for the future.

AI Coaching also engages others whose support is important to the success of the coaching. AI Coaching takes special care to align the client’s social support network to contribute to their learning, share their dream and support their positive change. AI Coaching guides the coachee or team to illuminate their deeply held values and aspirations, to reconnect to their strengths and capabilities and to create meaningful change. This often connects heart, mind, body and spirit while building strong and resilient relationships with relevant others.

About the workshop

This LIMITED ENROLMENT workshop is designed for coaches, managers and human resource professionals, from corporate, governmental and charitable, not-for-profit organisations - anyone who wants to know how to use AI in coaching to help individuals or
teams thrive personally and professionally. AI Coaching enables clients to integrate AI principles with their existing models of coaching to achieve enhanced results.

Developed over five years, this workshop uses an experience-based model that prepares coaches to work with AI in their coaching with clients. This workshop also prepares leaders and managers to use AI in supporting the individual development of their staff members.
Participants arrive at the workshop having identified topics or goals they personally want to achieve and on which they want to receive coaching. During extensive practice sessions, participants coach one another using the principles and phases of AI and receive feedback
to hone their skills. Participants will also consult with each other and receive consultation from the facilitator on their plans to use AI Coaching with one of their clients or staff members.
