City in Balance - Vejle, Denmark. Using AI and Asset Based Community Development in city development
"BalanCity" is a project in the Danish city of Vejle that has been running since 2004. The basis of this project is to use strength/asset based approach to the development of a part of Vejle that was previously seen as a "problem" area.
The conference was arranged by Vejle city as an invitation to people all over Denmark to participate and share experiences around successful community development using the approaches of Appreciative Inquiry(AI) and Asset Based Community Development (ABCD)
Earlier this year the organizers was looking for a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator around Appreciative Inquiry with experience from community development. Quite a few people responded and Ann Shacklady-Smith was chosen as presenter/facilitator. Leif Josefsson also was invited, to help with documentation and to present the European AI Network to the participants.
We will add up with some reporting from the conference, but as a start you can enjoy some photographic documentation from this great event.
